Basic Paste

Mix a little water with some stale white bread, mix together until you have a firm but slightly tacky mix. Additives may be introduced into the mix, anything goes - my own particular favourites are :- Bisto - Grated cheese - Softened Omega Pond pellets.
The white of an egg can be kneaded in to give a stiffer paste.

Method

Use a hook of adequate proportions to the size of your offering say from a No.12 up to a No.8.
Delicate casting is required, swing your bait out with an under arm cast and let it drift down stream. In still waters put your last shot just off the bottom and let the hook length lay on the bottom.
