Snatcher
This is a float you will have to make.
1--Take a piece of Peacock Quill or Balsa about 60 mm long
2--Thread your line through 2 pieces of silicon tube.
3--Attach the silicon tubes to each end of float.
4--Take 2 shot of equal size (say 2 No.4)and attach one to each end of the float.
5--Slide the silicon tube so that while still attached to the float it also covers each of the shots.
By selecting lengths of quill and shot sizes a balanced rig should have sufficient weight to enable you cast out your bait, no other shot are used and your float should lay flat on the surface of the water.
This rig is used for taking fish that are feeding close in and near the surface.
Lots of small fish e.g. Bleak can be caught with this method.
Note bites are indicated by the float moving along the surface, often very quickly.
Do not strike to one side - Lift up into the fish.
